Four Months+Four Days ... 8,694 Miles ... 25 States Later ...

THE JOURNEY IS THE DESTINATION! We are truly fortunate and blessed to have fulfilled our dream to RV across America and then to return home to our family and friends safe and sound. We’ve been asked, “Where was our favorite destination?” All of the places we visited were unique in their own special way and find it impossible to choose a favorite. We would not have missed one single experience of our trip.

We hope you enjoyed traveling with us through this blog. We certainly enjoyed sharing our expedition with everyone. We’ve had over 1,200 visits to our blog. We'd like to know who’s been traveling with us. Please use the email link ("Contact us") on the right to let us know you've been traveling with us and to share your comments. As with most people, we still have dreams. In the future, we would like to visit the states that we have not seen and to revisit others where we’ve already been.

Great Smoky Mountains National Park ... Cades Cove

GREAT SMOKY MOUNTAINS NATIONAL PARK, TN, October 18, 2007 ... We drove the Great Smoky Mountains National Park Cades Cove Loop Road. This 11-mile loop road is located in an idyllic setting and offers a self-guided tour of historic homesteads, preserved structures, and churches. Mountain vistas, beautiful pastureland, and a visitor’s center depict a real feel for what it was like for the early settlers to the area.

Pigeon Forge, Tennessee

Gaitlinburg, Tennessee

GATLINBURG, TN, October 18, 2007 ... We drove through Gatlinburg on our way to Smoky Mountains National Park. We stopped by the Applewood Farmhouse Restaurant for a delicious lunch. Gatlinburg is a small resort town in the heart of the Smoky Mountains just a short picturesque drive from Pigeon Forge.

Dollywood

PIGEON FORGE, TN, October 16, 2007 … We enjoyed a lovely fall day at Dollywood. The shows, crafts, food, and train ride were magnificent.

Two Rivers Landing RV Resort, Tennessee

SEVIERVILLE, TN, October 15-22,2007 ... We spent a week at the Two Rivers Landing RV Resort in Sevierville, TN located just outside Pigeon Forge in the heart of the Smoky Mountains. The fall foliage was at its peak. The RV sites are located on the banks of the river with front row view of the deer and the wild turkeys in the meadow across the river and of the awesome sunsets.
